In contrast to a stationary PV system, balcony power plants are very flexible and easy to install. Balcony power plants are simply connected to the socket.
What are the benefits of a balcony power plant? Is the purchase worthwhile for me?
Small systems like this cost only a fraction of their larger relatives on the roof. Moreover, additional costs such as solar installers, electricians and other technology are not incurred here. Which means that the costs for those plants are usually recovered within a few years and that's where things get really interesting financially with an operating time of more than 20 years.
LIf you use a 600 W module as a basis, you can cover up to 600 KW per year with a balcony power plant. If you put that in relation with a household with 1200 KW consumption per year, that makes up to 50% of the energy costs!
The average electricity tariff costs 40 cents per KW and the trend is clearly upwards!
Simple calculation example: 600*0,4 € = results in 240 €.
A 600 KW balcony power plant costs about 1100-1300 €, which means it will be amortized within 5 years. With a guarantee of 20 years, this corresponds to 4800 €. This results in a profit of about 3600 €, just like that!
The question if it is worthwhile is therefore clearly answered. It is easy on the wallet, protects you mostly from rising energy prices and helps the environment.
Where can I install a balcony power plant?
You can hang or place your balcony power plant where it is possible for you. On the garden house, on the balcony trellis, hang or put anywhere, there is an answer for all questions!
How environmentally friendly are such plants really?
After only about two to three years, the CO2 footprint created by the production of a solar module is offset again. This is because the solar power has been able to substitute the same amount of energy from fossil fuels during this time and also prevents the associated CO2 emissions.
What do I have to consider?
he total power is currently allowed to be a maximum of 600 W.
The Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) is relevant for balcony power plants. Three factors are decisive here: 1. EEG apportionment, 2. EEG remuneration and 3. the reporting obligation. The EEG apportionment does not apply because the electricity comes from a renewable source and is used exclusively for self-supply (§61a EEG). Remuneration is only important if the electricity is fed into the public grid. Regarding the reporting obligation: §74a and §76 of the EEG state that the grid operators must be informed in principle and the Federal Network Agency upon request about the operation of a balcony power plant, but only if electricity flows into the public grid.
